I didn't think it was possible to find an artist more rad than Dr Favian Delari but I stand corrected.
You may not have heard of the Mokany brothers, Attila and Louis, but I bet you've heard of their creations, The BIG Merino (Goulburn), The BIG Prawn (Ballina) and of course, The BIG Oyster in Taree.
Like most BIG things this ginormous oyster once served a purpose. It was a restaurant and souvenir shop. I tried to track down a name, to see if it were punny, but I was disappointed to never learn it. These days, the BIG Oyster is inhabited by a car dealership business. I bet they have an amazing view!
The BIG Oyster was the third, and as far as I know, last BIG Thing created by the brothers. The restaurant itself opened in 1990 and I reckon, as far as scale goes, it's likely the biggest BIG Thing in Australia.
