Max Scott
I couldn't find a contactable weblink for Mr Scott though he is a local to the area of Port Macquarie.
This Public artwork is a 2004 instillation and is very much site specific. The sculpture is titled 'Floodtide' and pays homage to the 1963 flood that devastated Camden Haven.
The local rag describes Max as a multi generational fisherman so when a council warcry for public art concepts arose Max won the tender with his proposal offering a wonderful tribute to the communities hardship through a very personal avenue by the artist.

Max took inspiration from a photo he found of a ship being build at the site and to keep with the community theme he used local timber. To further honor the area, and it's history, Scott created Floodtide with traditional boat building methods and carved region related images into the base pillar supporting his creation. The images reflect totems of the Birrbay region and people with obvious themes of fish and mountains.
