Kim Siew & Stephanie Peters |
This was my last stop for the evening. The rain really impeded my outing and prevented me from riding South to complete the last 5 pins in North Strathfield.
Kim Siew & Stephanie Peters mural is titled 'Building Blocks' and like most of the art found in Canada Bay it's a 2017 artwork.
I wasn't a fan of this mural until I read the plaque. The mural itself is found on the corner of Cavendish St & Victoria Ave

The plaque reads
Playful geometric shapes symbolize learning and connection in Concord West.
Look closely to find houses and bridges, pathways and point of contact, with shapes leaning on each other and holding each other up just as we do for each other as a community.
It reminds me of something I dont' know what but it's also a bit like 1960sish.
ReplyDeleteFairly certain when we were little we had these little wooden blocks to play with. Use to make 2d castles and what not. I don't know if it's something kids play with anymore with technology being the way it is.
