First touristy thing on the bucket list, other than the BIG Coffee Pot in Deloraine and the BIG Tasmanian Devil here was checking out the sanctuary,

Again, I've lost a lot of photos but the few posts I made to Facebook while on the trip were saved by social media. Wish I knew where all the old photos disappeared too or why they weren't stored in Google Photos.

I'd never seen a Tasmanian Devil before and while I usually walk through zoo's and sanctuary's pretty quick I quite enjoyed Trowunna. The enclosures were large and very natural looking. All the animals in enclosures were small and the pen style enclosures had ample room for them to move about. All save the bird enclosures.

Watching the feeding was fascinating. Little savages! The growls and social interaction was gold. I love that they gave them an unplucked bird and left them all to fend for themselves as they would be were they in the wild.

A few of the birds free ranging the sanctuary. There were also Kangaroos you could hand feed popcorn. Large animals make me a bit nervious but I enjoyed the various birds the sanctuary hosted.

One of the echidnas from a pen in the sanctuary. There were currently in mating season as most of them were engaged in a love train.
