South Brisbane | Robert Woodward

Robert Woodward Beautiful! I had a little trouble finding this as I was hesitant to lock my electric scooter up outside. I had to venture inside but it was worth the trouble. I've visited Robert Woodwards fountain in Sydney and was especially excited to see this as the photos look spectacular. Frankly the photos don't do the interactive sculpture justice. It's such a beautiful installment and I strongly encourage you to visit it. Woodward completed the 'Dandelion Fountain' for the Queensland Performing Arts Center in Brisbane in 1984. It sits just inside the foyer of the complex. I had to relinquish my backpack to the concierge upon entering the complex. I tried uploading a video of the fountain but videos haven't worked for some time now :(

The BIG Bread Clip

Ever seen a giant bread clip made out of bread clips? Meet 'Monolith' by Gary Deirmendjian and students from the Dulwich High School of Visual Arts & Design. Personally I feel the hollow section looks extremely phallic and once you see it, it can't be unseen. You're welcome! Added for your viewing pleasure a close up so you guys can see the detail of this wonderful sculpture. BTW, I'm extremely new to Sydney so I got off at Dulwich Station and WALKED all the way to Johnson Park because I didn't realize until getting to the park that Arlington Lightrail sat just outside this sculpture. Doh!

Christmas Break - See you next year!!

It's that time of year again and I'm putting the finishing touches on the annual interstate Christmas road trip. We leave on the 14th of Dec and should get back home around the 13th of January 2025 where I'll resume a long over due catch up from last years road trip. This years trip will be a special one. I didn't appreciate street Art when i went through South Australia back in 2018 and get to make up for that this trip. Thanks to the incredibly hard work of Calli M & especially Briggs Jourdan, fellow Street Art Cities contributors, I have an amazing Adelaide map full of content to follow This years migration consists of 416 items - 18 painted water tanks - 7 water towers - 13 Silos and roughly 378 street art locations. 243 of those belong to Adelaide itself. I've had limited time to prepare for this trip so extra thankful for the help. I look forward to somewhat catching up next year Merry Christmas, Megan
