Admittedly, I went to Manly just for this sculpture!
As a BIG Thing enthusiast I just saw a giant shell but upon attempting to find the artist I'm finding this sculpture is SO much more than it appears.
The Sculpture is called 'Shell' and it was designed by the Urban Art Program in 2000
I didn't even notice the nozzles but this sculpture apparently has 32 misting nozzles over its 7m diameter complete with fiber optics
Now, I haven't seen it! But now that I am aware this giant nautilus shell produces a ring of glowing blue mist I'm really itchy to head back to Manly to witness this amazing display.
