Plaque reads as follows:
"The Fizzer
Henry Ventlia Peckham
1872-1911
Packhorse mailman of the Never Never"
Before the fence was erected around the adjacent park there were more of these fibreglass figures. The Never Never is a term coined from Barcroft Boakes poem "Where the Dead Men lie" and is used to describe the endless remote areas of the Australian Outback
- Out on the wastes of the Never Never -
- That's where the dead men lie!
- There where the heat-waves dance forever -
- That's where the dead men lie!
